Jubilee Resource Hub

Project Information

We were appointed to deliver the full electrical and mechanical package for a new purpose-built facility, designed to serve both educational and community needs. The building consists of three pre-school classrooms, a commercial kitchen, offices at first-floor level, and a large auditorium space, creating a multipurpose hub for learning, events, and community activity.

Delivery

Our team provided both electrical and mechanical installation services tailored to the building’s mixed-use needs, including the installation of new distribution equipment throughout complete with sub-metering to ensure accurate monitoring and energy management.

On the electrical side, a full ‘life-safety system’ was installed, including a compliant fire alarm system, access control with integrated video entry, and an intruder alarm. We also delivered the first-fix AV wiring within the auditorium, ensuring the infrastructure was in place for contractors to complete the second-fix installation.

Lighting was a key focus in the project. Energy-efficient LED lighting with absence detection was installed across the entire facility. The auditorium was fitted with a house lighting system, designed to complement the space’s multi-functional use.

In the commercial kitchen, we delivered a full electrical installation ready for final catering equipment connections to be completed by others.

Our team carried out the AC wiring for the solar installation to support renewable energy integration and installed controls for the heating and ventilation systems. We also completed the first-fix installation for structured data cabling.

In terms of mechanical works, an air source heat pump supports both heating and hot water production. Underfloor heating was installed throughout all areas except the auditorium, where new low H₂O JAGA convectors provide responsive heating with a reduced carbon footprint. The convectors also have connected chilled water fed via the ASHP keeping it at a perfect temperature in the summer months.

Ventilation is managed via a new external air handling unit, distributing air through multiple grills across the building, with swirl diffusers installed in the auditorium to complement its specific requirements. The AHU had a rotary thermal wheel installed within to recycle heat from extract air into the supply air for colder months to keep the costs down and avoiding reheating rooms when fresh air is introduced.

A new hot water cylinder, fed directly from the air source heat pump, supplies the domestic water system, while newly installed domestic pipework serves the toilets and kitchen areas. The building also benefits from new soil vent pipes, completing the mechanical package.

The project was designed to deliver support in a safe, efficient, and flexible environment that meets the needs of all users from staff, students, and the wider community.

Through careful coordination with other trades and a strong focus on energy efficiency, the building will benefit from an electrical and mechanical system that will serve it well into the future.

Technology. Strategy. Impact. Delivered.
