King’s School EV Chargers, Canterbury

Project Information

The King’s School, Canterbury, set within the Cathedral Precincts, is reputedly Britain’s oldest educational institution, currently a co-ed day and boarding school. Founded in 597AD, they are very proud of their history, but conversely, also a forward-thinking business.

ECO MEP have been working with hardware suppliers Compleo to install 7 electric vehicle chargers across the various car parks around the school campus. There are further chargers due to be installed in the coming months, but the school are awaiting ‘listed building’ planning consent for these to be introduced to the most historic areas of the school.

The King’s School management team were keen to ensure the ability to monitor their energy consumption and review the change in load across their electrical systems. They are therefore utilising the RFID technology as part of our back-office platform for reporting and monitoring.
